'This Is Not Happening' Moves to Television
According to The Hollywood Reporter Comedy Central chose to pick up This Is Not Happening to series. The long form story telling show, hosted by Ari Shaffir, ran for two season online in the networks’ digital production facet, CC: Studios. The eight episode series will debut this fall and will still feature Shaffir’s comedian friends telling hilarious stories to live audiences at L.A.’s gentlement’s club, Cheetahs.
Personally this one was of my favorite online comedy efforts to stumble upon in the past year. Hearing comedians you love, telling real stories and not working out material is treat for any comedy buff.
“The only reason we are picking up This Is Not Happening is to prove we can incubate an idea digitally and then have it migrate to the linear channel,” said Kent Alterman, Comedy Central’s original programming president. Who also thinks the show is hilarious. Cheers to hoping Comedy Central develops ideas on this kind of platform.
