Patton Oswalt Will Return To The Webby Awards

Patton Oswalt will return to New York City to host the 18th annual Webby Awards, May 19th.

The Webby Awards announced Tuesday they were bringing the comedian back because he is, without a doubt the best man for the job. “Patton wins the Internet almost every day,” said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director. “His comedic creativity very much mirrors the ingenuity exhibited by the awards recipients and we feel fortunate to have him hosting again this year.”

Along with opening the night, Oswalt will resume the responsibility of keeping winners’ acceptance speeches in a “five words or less” format. One of the most talked about speeches from last year’s event was GIF inventor Steve Wilhite’s, “It’s pronounced ‘JIF’ not ‘GIF’.”

You can stream the show from Webby Awards starting Tuesday May 20th.
