Valley Lodge to release ‘Use Your Weapons’ on September 3
Combining such disparate influences as rock, pop, and also pop rock, New York City’s Valley Lodge has created the most exquisite soundtrack to summer you are likely to hear anywhere this fall in the form of their awesome new release “Use Your Weapons”. SPIN.com has the exclusive premiere of the video for “Go” which they called “the chiming lead single” and featuring comedian and Valley Lodge singer Dave Hill as “a crotch-grabbing, lady-ogling bicyclist with an eye for women’s fashion.”
“Use Your Weapons” is the 3rd full length from Valley Lodge, who consists of singer and lead guitar player Dave Hill (Walter Schreifels Band, Diamondsnake, ex-Cobra Verde, Sons of Elvis), drummer Rob Pfeiffer (ex-Sense Field), guitar player Phil Costello (Tragedy, Diamondsnake), and bass player Eddie Eyeball (2 Skinnee J’s, Gordon Gano). Guitar player and founding member John Kimbrough (Walt Mink, Tenacious D) provides additional rock heat and spiritual guidance via his Los Angeles bunker. The album was recorded in Brooklyn with Ian Love (Rival Schools) and mixed in Madison, Wisconsin by Mr. Colson (Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Paw). Songs from Valley Lodge’s previous releases made their way to TV on multiple ads and on shows like “Raising Hope”, “Cougar Town”, “Camp”. All the members of the band agree that it is the best album yet.
In support of the album’s release, Valley Lodge will be performing on The Artie Lange Show on September 18th, a stripped down set at frontman Dave Hill’s “Tasteful Nudes” (free) book event at Brooklyn’s Book Court on September 6th, and a Record Release Show at Rock Shop in Brooklyn on September 17th.
