Canadian Comedian Ordered To Pay 15K Fine For Words
The Supreme Court of British Columbia has upheld the right of an audience member to receive $15,000 in damages from comedian Guy Earle whose performance, she alleges has given her post-traumatic stress disorder.
This case is setting a scary precedence for any comedian that performs in Canada. What if someone heckles a comedian? Can he/she respond? How much is too much when responding to a heckler?
Here’s hoping this is an isolated incident.
